Minnesota Soccer Spot  Tuesday, June 25th Loons Losing Streak, Portland Next, and USMNT in Copa America *Disclaimer: My takes are not thoughtful, and they are NOT based in knowledge.*   Loons Losing Streak: This post has to be two of the worst back-to-back losses in Minnesota United history. It's not the scorelines or the way they played attack-wise necessarily: It more had to do with vibes. I know that is an oversimplification of the events of this past week, but you just had to be there.  Minnesota VS Dallas: This past Wednesday night, Minnesota United traveled to Frisco, Texas to take on the Houston Dynamo. In the most shocking defensive display of the season, the Loons conceded five goals for the first time in a long time. (I am no professional. I don't have these stats in front of me).  Here's how both teams lined up: MNUFC Lineup FC Dallas Lineup Eric Ramsay presented a 3-4-3 lineup. With Arriaga out for "personal reasons", Eriksson steps in alongsi...

Minnesota Soccer Spot  Tuesday, June 18th History Repeats Itself, Double-Game Week, A Look Around MLS, and the USMNT *Disclaimer: My takes are not thoughtful, and they are NOT based in knowledge.*   History Repeats Itself: Once again, Seattle has the Loons’ number. This past Saturday, Minnesota United traveled to Seattle, Washington to take on the Seattle Sounders. The Sounders, who currently sit at ninth in the Western Conference, snatched all three points in what would be one of Minnesota’s most bland showings of the season.  Here’s how both teams lined up: MNUFC Lineup Seattle Sounders Lineup With many international absences for Minnesota, Eric Ramsay had to get creative. He put forward a 5-3-2 lineup, something relatively new for the Loons. The five-back included mainstays Kervin Arriaga, Michael Boxall, and Mickey Tapias. Caden Clark steps in for the injured DJ Taylor, and Devin Padelford takes the place of the suspended Joseph Rosales. The midfield featu...

Minnesota Soccer Spot  Tuesday, June 11th The Kids Tie At Home, Seattle Next, Loons Go International, and the United States Men and Women's National Teams *Disclaimer: My takes are not thoughtful, and they are NOT based in knowledge.*   First, A Disclaimer Look at me go. I've been a day late two weeks in a row.  Most  of it is on me, considering I'm the biggest  procrastinator known to man. But part of it is me currently performing my civic duty with jury duty. As I write this, I am sitting at the Government center waiting to be told what to do. I brought my blog to write and Minecraft to play once I finish. I'd apologize for the late blog, but nobody but my dad reads this anyway, so I'll save my breath.  The Kids Tie At Home This past Saturday, Minnesota United’s U12 team took on FC Dallas at Allianz Field. With eleven players out due to injury or international duty, the Loons’ personnel were spread thin. Minnesota and Dallas would end up ...

Minnesota Soccer Spot  Tuesday, June 4th  Loons Double-Game Week, Dallas Next, A Look Around MLS, CONCACAF  Champions Cup, and The USWNT *Disclaimer: My takes are not thoughtful, and they are NOT based in knowledge.*   Loons Lose In L.A. Minnesota United had a busy week: This past Wednesday, the Loons traveled to L.A. to take on Western Conference powerhouse LAFC. Long story short, it was disappointing. Minnesota showed little to no promise in the attacking third, and Tapias barely made it out alive. It was the first time this season we saw the Loons display back-to-back poor performances, giving fans PTSD to the Adrian Heath era.  Here's how both teams lined up this past  Wednesday :  MNUFC Lineup LAFC Lineup Eric Ramsay presented a 5-3-2 formation going into L.A. Tapias returned to the starting eleven, taking the place of Padelford from the previous week. Along with Tapias, the five-man back line included Rosales, Boxall, Arriaga, and Taylor. ...
